Accounts

We're still busy implementing these, but here is the functionality you can expect from P&R Accounts:

Functionality

We'll make sure our games work without an account, but for the full experience, and account will be necessary. For example, in the TurnShip demo, without an account you can either host a game at your IP, or join a game's IP that you already know. However, with a P&R Account, you can view a list of games, or just those belonging to your friends, and when you start a game it's registered with the server for others to join.
We may, in the future, release games for people with accounts only.

Points

Accounts let you build up points. What do points mean? A numeric representation of an attribute corresponding to a perceived wealth. Or prizes.
With P&R points you'll be able to get money off future releases (although the majority will be free online). We may introduce systems of gaining them in the forums, such as being able to give away a certain number each day. You'll be able to get in-game items with them. And so on.
They're also a gauge of how long or hard you play our games, so there will probably rewards for high-scorers. Stay tuned.

Insider Info

We'll give people with accounts news before the rest of the world. This may, in the future, be about merchandise and similar things, but for now it will be about game releases and things like that.
